Looking at this photo makes me want to paint the mirror frame pink, like my earrings. Taking a photo and looking at it objectively helps me see things with a new eye.
I want my mom to take photos of every room she wants me to paint, the way it looks right now. Send me copies, or blog post them (I dare you?) so we can create true "BEFORE" and "AFTER" pictures. But do it before changing anything or any more prep. I'll even be fair and give you a big messy one of mine:
Before Emma comes home for Christmas break, this will turn back into a bedroom for her...When I am non-emotional about this room and look at it critically, I can see that I need to organize my shelves, open up the entryway, get things off of horizontal surfaces, lose the many inspiration piles, find a better way to declutter...Right now this isn't a bedroom, it is a half-way house for indecision. De-cluttering means deciding, committing.

Do you go back to bed when you get up so early? Or just crash really early in the evening? The hours you are talking about being awake aren't even in my vocabulary!
You are very brave to post your indecisiveness. I like to believe that everyone has areas like those but rarely do we show them to each other.
Sarah and I thought about getting up. She set her alarm and if I got up with it I'd go.
I think we both slept through it though! The densest art was earlier for us- around 2ish.
I like the mirror picture.
Oh and meant to say NO STRESSING over your sewing room! You've got a lot going on as it is. All I need is a bed.
I'm excited to be home!
I forgot about the meteor shower! I'm impressed by your seminary students. It's probably also a reflection of your ability to persuade/influence-- painting a mental picture that it would be worth it for them to come-- because that is a remarkable number of super early rising teens.
I like your analogy of the room being a "half-way house for indecision." I have piles and boxes that fit that description.
"A half-way house for indecision." I love that. Don't we all have a space like that in our homes?
