Making the blue and white shirting stars was the incentive to start/work on another mourning quilt. I've had a bag of Suzie's mom's clothes for over a year. Stretchy knits, t-shirts, favorite sweat suits. Not easily quilted fabrics. But making the stars out of thin shirting fabric convinced me it doesn't matter. Quilts can be stretchy! Cobblestone blocks have been a good solution. Cut 5 inch strips (size of my ruler). 2 x 14 inches for top and bottom, 2 x 5x5 for sides, and then one center 5x5 inches. Sew 3 squares together for middle row, then top and bottom. FAST. Use size of your rotary cutting ruler for your row width.
