Sibling Story

Once upon a time there was a family. A very big family. The mom and the dad had 9 children, and a niece all living together in Salt Lake City. Actually, by the time #9 baby son was born, the niece had moved out, and the oldest daughter was a freshman at BYU, and an Indian placement student, Heather Eaglepipe was living with the Babcock family!

No wonder the #9 baby boy didn't know how many siblings he had. He told us he cried in kindergarten when they asked how many brothers and sisters he had. He really didn't know. And he drew a picture with 5 moms. We all babied him!

This is me on the far right, #1 daughter. Standing in the middle in her SLC cop uniform is Wendy, our only cousin on my dad's side. When she was 16 she moved in with us until she graduated from high school.
#2 Deborah and her daughter (Sarah is my daughter's BYU roommate)
#3 Brother John lives the closest to us here on east coast.

#4 David is an art professor and would HATE that I used a flash on this picture, pointing out the flatness and the fake shadow behind him, standing in front of wedding breakfast carrot cake treats!
#5 Laurajane brought her youngest son with her.
#6 Luanna and her son, Pete, her 5th baby, and she looks great!
#7 Rebecca, laughing, giving us a tour of the U of U library!
This deserves a whole other blog entry...we went on an amazing tour and saw the special collection rare books FIRST EDITION OF BOOK OF MORMON SIGNED BY PROPHET JOSEPH SMITH, EMMA'S HYMNAL, BOOK OF COMMANDMENTS...really, really cool tour! We got to touch the page of the Gutenberg BIBLE, touch the book with our fingers--no gloves--the prophet wrote his name in, turn the pages, smell it, wonder in awe and reverence.
#8 Michael and his beautiful family!

#9 Steven and his wife, Alysa!

Yes, that is snow you see. Cold, big, fluffy flakes!

Cool story and some great pictures!

Heather actually lived with them after I was married and living in England. I met her at John and Jen's wedding.

So in Steven's kindergarten memory, you were married, and so was I, which gave him two more brothers and more confusion!

Poor Steven. I can picture him as a little kindergartener being so confused. 5 Moms - hahahha - makes me laugh. The twins have two moms. Poor things.
